Vild Safari och Konst! / Wild Safari and Art!

I love a good safari...even if it´s just round the corner in to the woods or down to the beach...looking and listening to birds and other wild animals...

One of my favorite films is still Out of Africa...can´t believe that it was made for over 20 years ago!! I love the intro when the train passes through the african landscape to the absolutely wonderful music by John Barry!

Karen Blixen was a strong woman that I admire much...what a life she had!...and what a lovestory...

I love all the clothes in the movie...wonderful creations from the 20´s and 30´s made of linen and chiffong...

This is the real stuff that could have been Karens!...

Underbara detaljer!.../ Wonderful details!...

Oh, to have picknic on the hill looking over the savanna!...but I think we will move on up to the north!...Come!

Låt oss gå på safari i Orsa i Dalarna!...
Come let´s go on safari in Orsa, located in Dalarna!...

These beautiful creatures will not show up in Orsa until next year, 2009!... A new facility for polarbears will be built...

But now I go too much ahead in the story...Karen wouldn´t have liked that!...The Bear Park at Grönklitt in Dalarna is the largest in Europe: 217.000 square meters. A visit to the park exceeds anything you’ll encounter at other animal parks.

High fences part us from the wild animals like bears, tigers, foxes, lynx, wolves and other animals...OK I admit that even if these animals have large spaces to move around in I don´t like the fact that animals are kept behind bars!...

I´d rather see them living free ...but if it makes people understand and learn things about these animals I guess it´s a good thing...

When we finally reached the top (Puh it was a really steep hill!) the view was breathtaking!...This day the temperature reached over 30 degrees celcius so the animals were mostly gasping for air and laying in the shade...

We saw the redfox...he or she came out when it was feeding time with the bears...these pictures are from the information boards though...

There are two Sibirian tigers in the park. They live in an area of 1400 square meters so we didn´t see them other than on the information board...

In the exhibitionhall there were paintings by the wildlifepainter Göran Löfwing...

Brudgummen har tappat bort ringen...

The Bridesgroom lost the ring...

The Grin....

Varghona med ungar...

Wolf with puppies...

Lodjur med unge i monter...

In the monter You can see the Lynx with cub...

Sagor beskriver vargar som elaka...

Fairytales about the big bad wolf...

Vilka stora ögon du har!...

What big eyes You´ve got!...

After a hot day in the bearpark we just had to go swimming...

Det var så fantastiskt ljus på himlen...

There was such peculiar light in the sky...

Finally we drove back home...the kids fell asleep in the car after an exiting day...

Det var allt från denna safari! Vi ses snart igen!...

That was all from this safari. Hope You enjoyed joining with us! See You soon!...

Thank you for taking me on the 'safari' with you! Aren't animals great! Thank you for visiting our blog and your comments. I also had a poodle for 16 years. He was my child and I miss him dearly. You are so deserving of an award! Your blog is always beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful day! Twyla

Enjoyed the safari. Zoos and wildlife parks are a necessary thing now I think as they have saved some species from disappearing forever. I too love the film Out of Africa and wish we would go back to wearing such beautiful clothes. If you get a chance stop by my CelebrateTheSeasons blog for a giveaway that will help you more with your safari theme.

Hugs ~

I found your blog through Rose Colored Glasses and Thankful Thursday. Out of Africa is my FAVORITE movie. I watch it at least once a year. Every time I've watched it I get something else out of it. It is perfection. 20 years have gone by already? How did that happen?
Loved your blog.

Hi Liisa
I LOVE Out of Africa too!! I love everything about it, the scenery, the story, the actors, the music. I just picked up a copy of the book recently and am going to read it.
Thank you for being so sweet to pass that award on for me. I don't know anyone famous like you do, to announce it for me :) but thanks for thinking of me.
Hugs, Rhondi
