Midsommardans /Midsummer dance

Klassiskt söt och god som en karamell kan man väl beskriva Midsommaraftonen...

Classical, sweet and yummy, like candy...words that describe Midsummer nights festivities...

En varm och solig eftermiddag byttes till ett klassiskt mdsommarväder med några regnstänk...

A warm and sunny afternoon changed into a more classical Midsummer weather with a few raindrops...

Lövgrirlangen bars fram till musik...

The garland was carried accompagnioned by music...

Ibland är det roligt att vända på kameran för en annorlunda vy...

Sometimes it´s just fun to turn the camera around for a different view...

Årets Midsommartalare upplyste oss om att Kyna´s midsommarfirande finns representerat på världsutställningen i Shanghai i Svenska paviljongen !

This years speaker informed us that our village Kyna´s Midsummerfestivities are represented on the World Exhibition in Shanghai in the Swedish Pavillion !

Ett helt gäng fransmän ville gärna vara med och resa stången...snabbt..."Alors.. Vite!"

Varpå hela byns stångresare ropar "Nej, nej , neeeej!!!"

A whole bunch of Frenchmen wanted to participate in the lifting of the Maypole...and that in a fast way..."Alors...Vite!"  whereupon the whole village gang of lifters yelled "No,no,nooo!"

Det här är inget som man ska jäkta på med!  Lyftarna guidas av en riktkarl som visar vart stängerna skall flyttas...stången är tung! Risken finns att den kan gå av eller falla åt sidan om man har för bråttom...sen skall ju publiken hinna med och heja på!

This is not a thing you can rush! The lifters are guided by a supervisor that tells when to move the lifting poles and in what order...the Maypole is heavy! There is a risk of breaking the pole or that it falls to the side if you do it too quickly...and of course ...the lifters have to have time to show how good they are and get proper support from the audience!

OK det gick bra till slut!...

Och dansen runt stången tar fart...

So let the dance around the pole begin!

Beautiful folk costumes , both Swedish and Norwegian...

Och fransmännen hade roligt!...

And the Frenchmen had a blast!...

Byns duktiga musikanter spelade och sjöng...

Our village musicians played and sang every traditional song...

Alla dansade och hade roligt...

Everyone young and old danced and had a good time...

En del var söta som karameller...

Some were sweet as candy...

Och sen fortsatte kvällen på sedvanligt manér i goda vänners lag med god mat, dryck ock musik! Ha en fortsatt trevlig helg! Vi ses!
